Kanye West leads mega Splendour line-up

Kanye West Kanye West has been named alongside a mega line-up of international and local acts for this year’s Splendour In The Grass festival.

The US artist will perform at the Australian winter music festival alongside Coldplay, Jane’s Addiction, The Hives, Pulp, The Mars Volta, Friendly Fires, Modest Mouse, and Bloc Party front man, Kele.

Other acts named for the July event are: The Living End, Regina Spektor, Bliss n Eso, Pnau, Mogwai, DJ Shadow, Glasvegas, Cut Copy, The Grates, The Kills and Oh Mercy.

The three day festival will be held across Friday 29th to Sunday 31st July at Woodfordia, near Woodford, south-east Queensland.



The 2011 festival will be the second year Splendour in the Grass will be held at the Woodfordia location while the approval process for the festival’s own permanent home at North Byron Parklands continues.

Since 2006, Splendour In The Grass has been working toward establishing a permanent sustainable event venue to stage the festival at the 660 acre North Byron Parklands site at Yelgun in the north of the shire.

The Parklands project is still undergoing a comprehensive approval process with the NSW Department of Planning and can’t be considered for this year’s festival.
