Urthboy joins Amp shortlist

Urthboy
Urthboy has become the first artist to join the shortlist for this year’s Australian music award, The Amps.
The Sydney artist aka Tim Levinson has been nominated for his new album, Spitshine.
Urthboy, also known for his work with The Herd, worked on the new album with Hermitude.
Spitshine follows on Urthboy’s 2007 album, The Signal.
Urthboy is one of nine artists in the running for the Amp 2009 prize.
The remaining shortlist artists will be announced as part of the St Kilda Festival on 14 February.
Previous winners of The Amp include Eddie Current Supression Ring, The Mess Hall, and The Drones.
The winner of The Amp receives a $30,000 cash prize from PPCA, with Red Bull also offering a $15,000 prize in recognition of outstanding potential.
