An online auction of Ladyhawke artwork has raised more than $2,000 for the victims of earthquake ravaged Haiti.

The artwork – a painting by artist Sarah Larnach – was used for Ladyhawke aka Pip Brown’s self-titled debut album.

The painting is watercolour and ink on paper, and dimensions are approx 21cm high by 30cm wide.

It is an unframed painting of two kittens, and was painted specifically for Ladyhawke.

“This is the first time any of the artwork related to the Ladyhawke self-titled album, or its singles, has been put up for sale,” Larnach said.

“I had been waiting for the right moment, and this must be it.”

Held over five days, the auction attracted 68 bidders, with a first bid of $40 and the winning bid of $2117.

On 12 January, an earthquake measuring 7.0 hit the country of Haiti.

It has been estimated that three million people were affected by the quake, with close to 170,000 deaths, and serve damage to 20,000 commercial buildings and 225,000 residences.
