Splendour in the Grass will return for 2010, with organisers releasing details of the date and new venue for the Aussie music festival.
The event will be held on Friday July 30th to Sunday August 1st 2010 and be temporarily relocated to Woodford in Queensland – home of the Woodfood Folk Festival.
Festival organisers have been working towards finding a permanent venue to stage the festival.
The festival was to be held at the North Byron Parklands site at Yelgun in Bryon Shire, though it is undergoing a comprehensive approval process with the NSW Department of Planning for a permanent cultural event venue and will not be ready for next year’s event.
“Woodford Folk Festival and their beautiful site Woodfordia have been a great source of inspiration to us and we feel honoured to borrow their home” Splendour in the Grass organiser Jessica Ducrou said.
“Given the size of the venue we will be able to accommodate almost all festival patrons in camping grounds onsite, giving more people the full festival experience. The purpose built venue also means that we can incorporate a broader range of arts and cultural experiences, which we have been wanting to do for many years”.
Line up details for Splendour 2010 is expected to be released in March next year.
