White Stripes doco secures debut

The White Stripes A documentary on The White Stripes made its debut at an international film festival last week.

The film, The White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights’ debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 18.

Directed by Emmett Malloy, the film follows the duo of Jack and Meg White as they complete their 2007 Canadian tour.

It pays special attention to the pair’s free side-shows that occurred in a wide variety of settings, from a city bus in Winnipeg to the Arva Flour Mill outside London.

Malloy has directed documentaries and film clips for artists including Oasis, Wolfmother, Metallica, Ben Harper and Blink 182.
