Eskimo Joe has knocked off a list of heavyweight international acts to take top spot on Australia’s album chart.

The Perth band has stepped past Eminem to debut in the number one album spot with their latest release, Inshalla.

As well as pushing aside the US artist, Eskimo Joe beat out Green Day, Pink, Lily Allen, Taylor Swift, Lady GaGa, and the Twilight soundtrack to take top billing.

Fellow West Australian artst Little Birdy is the next best placed Aussie on the chart ladder sitting pretty at number 10 with their release, Confetti.

Little Birdy has done well to beat out new entrants French outfit Phoenix with their new album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix and US shock rocker Marilyn Manson with his album, The High End of Low.
