It’s Blitz
Modular
The hype surrounding this album would leave any artist, new or established, feeling a little jittery.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs
It’s Blitz is the follow up to the New York trio’s 2006 album, Show Your Bones.
The first thing to notice about It’s Blitz is that it’s nothing like any of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ previous releases.
The album is not full of off cuts, proving these guys love what they do.
The album is also absent of any feeling of regret – there is nothing drawn out or old hat about this record.
A burst of energy runs across the album, with a surge of high energy peaking at Heads Will Roll, Zero, and Dull Life before moving effortlessly to a more delicate pulse across tracks Skeletons and Softshock.
It’s Blitz stands alone victorious among a world of imitators.
Five stars
