Powderfinger
Powderfinger will take time out from writing their new album to headline a one-off benefit show for the victims and survivors of the Victorian fires and Queensland floods.
The Brisbane outfit has been busy working on the follow up to their 2007 album, Dream Days of The Hotel Existence.
“The generosity of the public all over the country has been incredible. I suppose when faced with situations like this you do whatever you can,” Powderfinger singer Bernard Fanning said.
“We can play rock and roll and be mildly entertaining so we thought people might be up for further donations in the form of a ticket to a show.”
Powderfinger will be joined at the event by The Grates, Robert Forster, The John Steel Singers, The Boat People and Dan Parsons.
Profits raised will be donated evenly across The Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal and The Queensland Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal.
The event will be held at The Tivoli on March 6. Tickets on sale Friday February 27 through ticketek.com.au.
