Jet to play secret hometown show

Jet will play a one-off hometown gig in Melbourne next week.

The Aussie band will take the stage at the East Brunswick Club on 17 December.

The show will give Jet the chance to test run new material off their forthcoming third album.

The band has spent much of 2008 in the US working on the follow up to 2006 record, Shine.

In September, band singer Nic Cester commented on the new album: “There’s a vibe and an energy within the group that hasn’t existed for a long time.”

“I think the first album was naive and fun, I think the second album was us just trying too hard, and this one is just us really relaxed and being comfortable in our own skin and getting along and really wanting to create something interesting,” he said.

Jet’s return to Australia will also see the band ring in the New Year on the Gold Coast as headliners for Odyssey NYE ‘09.
