Posted on 08 December 2008 by Kate Kachor

The Presets have taken out this year’s J Award for Album of The Year for their latest album, Apocalypso.

The Sydney duo of Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes beat out tough competition from The Grates, Augie March, Cut Copy, and Sparkadia (to name a few), for the Aussie youth radio station award.

The Presets join the list previous winners including Wolfmother, Blue King Brown and The Panics.

Since its release on April 12, Apocalypso has gone onto to achieve double platinum (140,000) sales while also collecting a swag of gongs at this year’s ARIA Awards – including Best Album, Best Dance Act, Band of The Year, Video of the Year and Artwork of the Year and Producers of The Year.
