The Drones have been added to a stellar list of artists for next year’s Golden Plains festival.

The Melbourne band will play the three day Victorian music event in March 2009.

The Drones will be joined by Mogwai, Tony Allen, Gary Numan, Black Mountain, Of Montreal, The Church, Dan Deacon, Old Crow Medicine Show.

Brant Bjork And The Bros, Jim White And John Doe, Quintron And Miss Pussycat, The Black Seeds, Luluc, You Am I, have also been named for the festival with more acts still to be announced.

This year’s ticket ballot has closed, though store sales are available from the usual outlets on Tuesday November 18.
