The UK outfit were due to play a series of shows in January 2009 with Scottish band, Franz Ferdanand.
“It’s with great regret that The Cribs are unable to make their planned trip to Australia in the New Year, the band is currently holed up in the studio working on their 4th album and they look forward to coming to Australia later in the year with their new 4-piece line up,” a statement from the band’s management said.
“The band apologises for any disappointment caused, but the new record has to take priority for now.”
The Cribs were to play support spots for Franz Ferdinand shows in Melbourne and Sydney.
Franz Ferdinand and the Red Riders will still be appearing as scheduled and a replacement for The Cribs will be announced soon.
