Yves Klein Blue teams with Cold War Kids producer

Posted on 04 November 2008 by Kate Kachor

Yves Klein Blue will travel to the US this month to record their debut with Cold War Kids producer, Kevin Augunas.

The Brisbane outfit will jet to Los Angeles to record their debut album with Augunas at Fairfax Studios in North Hollywood.

As well as working with Cold War Kids, Augunas has produced records for The Vandals and Lost Prophets.

“It’s really cool and very exciting to be working with him. We spoke to loads of people the world over, but we were already on the same page without having to explain it to each other with Kevin,” Yves Klein Blue frontman Michael Tomlinson said.

“Going to Los Angeles to record it, makes us among the few extremely lucky bands to record in LA. Making a record is a privilege, but getting to go to LA and make it with such a great producer is fantastic.”

The band’s new album is due out in mid 2009.

Yves Klein Blue’s EP, Draw Attention To Themselves, has been released digitally in the US.

The band will play a number of shows while in the US, including The Knitting Factory on November 19.
