AMP entries closing soon

Posted on 27 October 2008 by Kate Kachor

Early bird entries for this year’s Australian Music Prize (AMP) close this Friday.

Until October 31 entries into Australia’s music award cost only $55. The price goes up to $95 after that date.

Australian artists need to submit original album-length works (released in 2008) to go into the running to win the cash prize of $30,000.

Sydney band The Mess Hall took out last year’s AMP prize for their album, Devils Elbow.

Like the UK’s Mercury Music Prize, The Amp is intended to encourage excellence and to attract the broadest spectrum of entrants.
