The Presets take home top ARIA gongs

The Sydney duo took out Album of The Year, Best Group and Best Dance Album for their latest record, Apocalypso.
Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes were left speechless when their band name was called for Album of The Year.
After double checking their names were actually written on the winning envelope, the pair joked: “It’s true. It’s official”.
Other winners on the night were Melbourne rock trio The Living End who took home the Best Rock Album award for their new album, White Noise.
Bliss n Eso took out the Best Urban Record for their album, Flying Colours.
Nick Cave was awarded the Best Male Artist Award, with Gabriella Cilmi taking out the Best Female Artist category.
Cilmi cleaned up at the awards, winning all six of her nominated categories.
The ARIA Awards, announced on October 19 in Sydney, also held a few surprises.
Electro-pop prince Sam Sparrow walked away empty handed despite notching up five nominations for his self-titled debut.
Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson were the surprise winners of the Best Country Album with their first collaboration together, Rattlin Bones.
Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu beat out Ben Lee, British India, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Lior, and Midnight Juggernauts to win the Best Independent Release for his album, Gurrumul.
The Audreys won this year’s Best Roots and Blues Album with their record, When The Flood Comes.
The Panics took home Best Adult Contemporary Album for their record, Cruel Guards.
