Ben Lee to release new album in 09

Ben Lee will release his new album, The Rebirth of Venus, in early 2009.

The Aussie singer will release the new album in February next year.

The Rebirth of Venus was produced by Brad Wood (Awake is The New Sleep) in Los Angeles at Wood’s home studio, Seagrass.

Fellow Aussie singer Missy Higgins recorded vocals on two of the album’s tracks. The tracks are I Love Pop Music and Yoko Ono.

The Rebirth of Venus will be released through independent Australian label Dew Process. The label announced it had signed Lee late yesterday.

Lee’s new album, The Rebirth of Venus, is the follow up to his 2007 record, Ripe.

Lee will return to Australia on in November to perform with the Queensland Orchestra at the Brisbane Convention Centre on November 23, as well as the Escape to The Park Festival in Perth on November 29.
