The Sleepy’s drummer teams up with Evans

Posted on 07 October 2008 by Kate Kachor

The drummer with The Sleepy Jackson will join Bob Evans on his upcoming Aussie tour.

Malcolm Clark will join Evans on his national tour, The Blind Faith Tour, this November.

“My new band is coming along well and I’m really excited about touring this record….trust me, it’s going to be fantastic! The first tour however, will be just me and Mal Clark performing as a duo,” Evans said.

“Brave Mal is going to attempt to play drums, keys and sing all at the same time! That in itself should be worth the price of admission!”

While there has been no official comment over a split of The Sleepy Jackson, Clarke has been billed on Evans’ tour as “ex-Sleepy Jackson drummer”.

Clarke and bandmate Luke Steele have not released new material under the Sleepy Jackson name since their latest album, Personality: One Was A Spider, One Was A Bird, was released in 2006.

In recent times Clarke has gone on to perform and record with other bands including Starky and From The Skies.

Steele has also been busy with side projects, having just released a new album with Pnau member Nick Littlemore under the name, Empire Of The Sun.

Steele is said to also be working on a project with Silverchair frontman, Daniel Johns, to be named Hathaway and Palmer after William Hathaway and Walter Palmer.
