Sonic Youth member linked to Gossip Girl

Thurston Moore will take time out from recording a new Sonic Youth album to record a single for US television.

Moore will team up with Jemina Pearl (Be Your Own Pet) to record the Ramones’ track Sheena Is A Punk Rocker for cult teen show Gossip Girl.
“Kim [Gordon]’s gonna show up soon, and my friend Jemina who sings in Be Your Own Pet is coming up with her, and she’s gonna come up with me tomorrow to Ma and we’re gonna record “Sheena Is A Punk Rocker” for Gossip Girl. So you know, the fun never stops,” Moore told Rollingstone magazine.
Sonic Youth are currently working on their new album, The Eternal.
The new album is expected to be released in 2009.
