Eskimo Joe will team with Pixies producer Gil Norton on their new album.

The Perth band will work with Norton on the follow up to their 2006 album, Black Fingernails Red Wine.

As well as producing albums for the Pixies, Norton has worked with Echo and the Bunnymen, and Foo Fighters.

“Needless to say, we’re very excited to be heading into the studio over the next few weeks,” Eskimo Joe said.

Following recording Eskimo Joe plan to tour both internationally and in Australia.

The band are playing their first round of dates in the UK and Ireland this December.

Eskimo Joe will return to Australia to play Odyssey 09 New Year’s Eve event.

While no dates are confirmed, the band has hinted that they may perform Australian dates between now and December.
