The Hives will play two sideshows when they make their way to Australia this December.

The Swedish band will be in the country to perform at this year’s Falls Festival.

While in Australia The Hives will play a solo show in Melbourne and one in Sydney in late December and early January 2009.

The Hives will join the likes of Franz Ferdinand, The Kooks, Gomez, Mystery Jets and Donavon Frankenreiter at this year’s Falls Festival.

Other acts to be named for the festival are: Eli ‘Paperboy’ Reed & The True Loves, The Cat Empire, The Grates, Tegan & Sara, Faker, SoKo, Jamie Lidell, TZU, Architecture in Helsinki, Atmosphere featuring Brother Ali, The Drones, The Dodo’s, Wolf & Cub & Liam Finn, Augie March, Late Of The Pier, A-Trak, Rocket Science, Ash Grunwald, Labjacd, TinPan Orange.

Tickets to the festival are available through a ballot from www.fallsfestival.com.au.
