Stockdale begins recording new Wolfmother

Stockdale, the only original member of the band, will continue to work with producer Dave Sardy on a new album.
Commenting on Stockdale’s decision to continue on with Wolfmother - Phase II, the band’s label Modular Recording’s Steve Pav said: “To me wolfmother has always a mop of curly hair, an amazing voice and some really great songs.
“Listening to Andrew’s demos gave me goosebumps. I can still hear an amazing voice and some really great songs. When I look at the guy who gave ‘em to me all I can see is a mop of curly hair, therefore the only split in wolfmother I can see is some of the ends of his hair.”
Originally a three-piece, Wolfmother members Chris Ross and Myles Heskett quit the band in early August.
The pair cited “irreconcilable personal and musical differences” as the reason behind their departure, the band’s website said.
Stockdale is expected to release a new Wolfmother album in February 2009.
