The Stroke’s member was due to tour Australia next month on his first solo tour of the country.
“Albert is suffering a severe throat infection that has resulted in him losing his voice. He has been advised against performing by his doctor,” Frontier Touring, Hammond Jr’s tour management said.
The singer was due to play shows in Melbourne this Wednesday, with shows following in Sydney, and Brisbane.
Hammond Jr was also expected to perform at this year’s Splendour In The Grass festival.
All shows have now been cancelled including the singer’s appearance at Splendour.
Tickets can be refunded from the original point of sale.
Frontier will be looking toward rescheduling the shows later in the year.
