Crowded House have been named as headliners for this year’s Homebake festival.

The iconic band follow in the footsteps of The Divinyls, and Nick Cave in being named the leading “veterans” for the event amid a throng of up and coming local talent.

Other acts to be named in the first run of line-up announcements are Sneaky Sound, Kasey Chambers And Shane Nicholson’s, Pnau, Gabriella Cilmi, Cut Copy, The Vines, Died Pretty, Bliss N Eso, Headless Chickens, The Potbelleez, Karnivool.

Aussie rockers You Am I has also been added to the December festival, with British India, The Getaway Plan, Infusion, Little Red, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Drapht, Pegz, Snob Scrilla, Sparkadia, Bluejuice, Dash & Will, Bag Raiders, ZZZ also on the bill.

Organisers of this year’s event have selected Amnesty Inational as its charity for the event.

Homebake 2008 will be held on Saturday December 6, in Sydney’s Domain.
