Luke Steele goes solo

The frontman with Perth outfit The Sleepy Jackson made a small announcement to his myspace.com/thesleepyjackson page yesterday.
Under the headline, “Luke Steele Solo tour”, the singer left a brief message.
“Could there be? Will there be? Stay tuned for possible solo show dates and announcements,” the message said.
While there is little information on whether Steele is working on a solo album to accompany his proposed solo tour, news of the singer writing and recording with Silverchair’s Daniel Johns has been confirmed.
“Silverchair’s Daniel Johns and The Sleepy Jackson’s Luke Steele have been writing and recording songs together over the past few months,” a post on Silverchair’s website said.
“The long time friends and sometimes collaborators have no current plans for a release.”
Steele and bandmate, Malcolm Clarke have not released new material under the Sleepy Jackson name since their latest album, Personality: One Was A Spider, One Was A Bird, was released in 2006.
In recent times Clarke has gone on to perform and record with other bands including Starky and From The Skies.
