Augie March releases mini live album

Posted on 27 June 2008 by Kate Kachor

Augie March has released a collection of unreleased live tracks to their website.

The tracks entitled, The LA Session Collection, are available free to download at augiemarch.com for a limited time.

The LA Sessions were recorded last year during Augie March’s US tour.

The Melbourne band are currently in New Zealand working on their fourth album.

“We’re several days into recording and starting to get a handle on it. Being as a couple of members have commitments at home we’re tailoring things to accommodate,” Augie March singer Glenn Richards said.

“Drum and bass sounds are taking up the bulk of the day followed by live takes till its right. Not terribly dissimilar to previous experiences but you’ll be pleased to know everything you hear of a meat and potatoes 5 piece band nature is live in the studio. Vocals will likely have to wait till the end, so no Parnell benders for singer bloke.”

Augie March are recording their new album at Neil Finn’s studio, Roundhead.

The band has secured the skills of producer Joe Chiccarelli on their upcoming studio album.

Chiccarelli has produced albums for Beck, The Shins, White Stripes, Zappa and U2.

The album will be the follow up to Moo, You Bloody Choir.
