Kid Confucius ditches hip hop

Posted on 06 June 2008 by Kate Kachor

Kid Confucius plans to move away from their hip hop roots to explore new sounds on their upcoming new album.

The Sydney outfit are working on their as yet titled third album. The album is the follow up to 2007’s release, Stripes.

Producer Tony Buchen (Macromantics, Blue King Brown, Earl Gray) will re-team with Kid Confucius.

The band intends to try a new sound on the album, moving away from the straight soul / hip hop sounds of their previous two releases, and towards a sound, described as ‘dirty garage soul’.

Kid Confucius will release the first single off the new album in July.

The group intends to head out on tour in August in support of the single and road test the new material.

Kid Confucius’ new album is expected to be released in October.
