The Kooks will head out on their first-ever Australian tour later in the year.

The UK outfit will tour the country in late August.

News of the upcoming tour comes off the back of a stellar Australian performance for The Kook’s latest album.

The band’s second album KONK, debuted on the Australian ARIA Album Chart in the top 10.

“We’re so excited to finally be coming to Australia and playing our live show to our fans. We realise its taken a while to get there but on this record we were absolutely determined to ensure Australia was a country that was on our touring schedule. We’ve heard so much about the place…,” Kooks lead singer Luke Pritchard said.

The Kooks released their debut album, Inside In/Inside Out in 2006.
