The Drones record new album

The Drones have begun work on their fourth full length studio album. The Melbourne band are recording the new album in a mud brick house in the mountains outside of Myrtleford, Victoria,

As yet the new album is without a name, though it is follow up to their 2006 record, Gala Mill. The new record is expected to be released in September this year.

The Drone's new record will be produced by the band and Burke Reid (The Mess Hall, Gerling). Reid will also act as the album's engineer.

While dates are yet to be confirmed, The Drones are expected to tour the new album nationally in October.

As well as releasing Gala Mill, The Drones have released The Miller's Daughter in 2005, Wait Long By The River And The Bodies Of Your Enemies Will Float By in 2005 and Here Come The Lies in 2002.

The Drones won the Australian Music Prize (AMP) for their album, Wait Long By The River And The Bodies Of Your Enemies Will Float By.
