Golden days for Aussie artists

Kasey Chambers’ and Shane Nicholson’s debut collaboration, Rattlin’ Bones, rocketed to number one on the ARIA album charts this week.
Earlier this month Sydney duo Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes aka The Presets secured the top spot with their latest album, Apocalyso.
Melbourne outfit Cut Copy also managed a perfect debut with the March release of their album, In Ghost Colours.
Perth band Gyroscope rounds out the local acts to hit the high note on the charts. Gyroscope’s latest Breed Obsession debuted at number one earlier this year.
Meanwhile, The Presets still have reason to celebrate, with Apocalyso reaching gold status less than two weeks since its release.
Also, another new entrant to the charts is From Little Things Big Things Grow (Get Up Stand Up version). The Kev Carmody song features a collection of local acts including Carmody, Paul Kelly, Urthboy, Missy Higgins, Mia Dyson, Ozi Batla, John Butler and the voices of Kevin Rudd and Paul Keating.
The track scored a top four debut this week. All profits raised by the song will go to GetUp’s Reconciliation Fund and Aboriginal organisations on the ground.
