The Kooks will release their much anticipated second album later this week.

The UK band will release Konk on April 12.

The first single off the album, Always Where I Need To Be, was released to radio last week.

The Kooks recorded their new album in Ray Davies’ (The Kinks) Konk Studio in North London last year.

The band again teamed with producer Tony Hoffer (Beck, AIR, The Fratellis) on the album.

Hoffer was the mastermind behind the band’s 2006 debut, Inside In/Inside Out.

Inside In/ Inside Out went on to sell over 2 million copies worldwide. In Australia, the band have sold more than 20,000 albums.

There are unconfirmed rumours that The Kooks will announce an Australian tour for sometime this year.
