In a post on the band’s myspace page, drummer Hamish Rosser announced he is selling off a drum kit he’s owned since 1994.
“How many drum kits is too many? I’ve decided that five is too many so I’m selling off one that I’ve owned since 1994 and have played on hundreds of gigs,” he said.
“If any of our Australian fans are interested its up on eBay for the next week [or at myspace.com/thevines].”
Meanwhile, The Vines are said to be keen to release the first single off their new fourth album later this month.
The single is rumoured to be called, Braindead.
The Vines have been working on the follow up to their Vision Valley album for much of the year.
Producer Rob Schnapf has been working on the album with the band in Los Angeles. Schnapf worked with The Vines on their previous releases, Highly Evolved and Winning Days.
While no exact release date is known, the as yet titled new album is slanted for release in June.
