Powderfinger up close and personal

The Brisbane band will return to an intimate concert setting this June when they head out on the Upstairs at the Downstairs Tour.
The tour marks a return to smaller venues, a tour mode Powderfinger has not performed in eight years.
The Upstairs at the Downstairs Tour will be split into two parts, one acoustic set followed by a second rock set.
Powderfinger has also left the set selection to their fans, with ticket buyers having the opportunity to choose the band’s set list by voting for their favourite songs online.
“For this tour we’re doing something a little different, something a little more intimate. We’re trying a concept we’ve never done before on a tour, and that is to split the show into two halves. One of our main focuses for this tour is to make it a little more personal and have more interaction with our fans and what they would like to hear us play. Hence, they’re choosing our set list … we will be at their mercy,” said guitarist Darren Middleton.
Melbourne singer/songwriter Whitley has been chosen as Powderfinger’s support for the tour.
Powderfinger released their latest album Dream Days at the Hotel Existence earlier this year. A deluxe edition of the album is available on Saturday, 19 April.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, 11 April. There will be early bird tickets from April 10 for members of the www.powderfinger.com fan club.
