Mountain Goats cancel tour

The Mountain Goats have been forced to cancel their upcoming Australia tour because of personal illness.

The US band was due to tour the country in April.
“For personal medical reasons the Mountain Goats are unable to do the Australian tour as scheduled,” front man John Darnielle said.
“The band wants Australia to know how much we regret this: coming to Oz is a big highlight of the year for us and we were really looking forward to playing these shows. We will make it up to you all!”
Tour organisers are hoping to reschedule the band’s dates for later in 2008, though if a new tour doesn’t go ahead all tickets will be refunded from point of purchase.
