The drummer with the Redsunband has quit, band members have confirmed.

Redsunband singer Sarah Kelly told elevenmagazine.com.au that founding member John Matthews has left the band. He has been replaced by former Love Outside Andromeda drummer Joe Hammond.

“John has indeed left the band, and Joe is one of two drummers we now play with,” Kelly said.

Commenting on the Sydney band’s new EP, she said: “Things are going very well with the EP, lots of airplay, lots of positive feedback.”

The follow up to their 2005 debut, Peapod, is expected sometime this year. The album will be released on the band’s own label.

The redsunband will perform as part of this year’s St Jerome’s Laneway Festival. See below for details.
