Little Birdy squash split rumours

Posted on 29 January 2008 by admin

Little Birdy has shaken off rumours of a split with news they are preparing a new album and Aussie tour.

The Perth band will play three shows this March in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

The shows will be the band’s last for the year before heading into the studio to record album number three.

Interestingly, at the beginning of each show Little Birdy singer Katy Steele will play a solo slot.

“We want to say thanks for our wonderful 6 years of fun so far by giving you a sneak peak of some the new material Katy has been writing for the next album,” the band wrote in a statement.

“So to start each night off, Katy will play a solo set of new Little Birdy tunes as well as a few old favs thrown in to sing along too.”

Steele sparked rumours of a split late last year when she jetted off on a number of solo international shows. Perhaps a solo album is in the works, though looks like Little Birdy will stick together.

Fellow Perth band Sugar Army and Melbourne’s Ned Collette will join Little Birdy on tour.

Wednesday 12th March - Oxford Art Factory, Sydney. 18+
Thursday 13th March - The Zoo, Brisbane. 18+
